Rules introduced under the “Making Tax Digital” initiative mean VAT registered businesses with taxable turnover above the VAT registration threshold need to keep digital records and submit VAT Returns to HMRC using compatible software to upload the input digitally without manual input.
Are you ready for the GDPR new format for data protection on 25th May 2018?
Now is the time to start preparing for the new GDPR act that will supersede the current DPA legislation.
The act although European in birth will continue with its tougher rules on data protection post Brexit Transition as it is being brought into force under the new British Data Protection Bill.
Applying for registration with the ICO and spending £35 in doing so does not complete your necessary task in compliance.
The new act puts teeth on the old act and creates a requirement for everyone keeping data to provide proof of compliance and as well as naming a designated data controller requires those processing data to be counted as data processors with responsibilities.

CET Grant Claim Form (Cut off point Oct 31st 2017)
As a reminder, CET allowance payments are payable to contractors. A payment can be claimed by a contractor in respect of either:
- CET he/she has undertaken personally in the year between 1 January to 31 December 2016.
- CET undertaken in the year between 1 January to 31 December 2016 by an ophthalmic practitioner on the Ophthalmic Performers List.
The CET allowance for 2016 is £545.
Please follow the steps below to submit a claim:
- Complete the form which can be found below or on the Department of Health Website
- Sign and date the form in the appropriate place(s)
- Scan the signed form and attach to an email
- Put ‘2017 CET claim’ in the email subject header
- Email to PCSE.Optical@nhs.net
You will receive a case reference number from PCSE once they have received your claim form. Please note you are asked to submit only one claim form per email so that you each form has a unique case reference that can be tracked.
